Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
Thomas Carlyle.

Reflection: If an individual doesn’t know the direction of where their life is going than what is the point of living and wondering through it. Knowing what you want to do in life is better because you’re prepared, and ready to take on your life and more importantly the world. If you’re steering your life then you know what you desire, what you want to accomplish, and what you want to make out of yourself. If you do not set goals then what is the point of attending school and trying to make something out of yourself. All in all I agree with Thomas Carlyle because without a rudder you do not have long life goals.

Student Success Statement
“If there is beauty in character,
There will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character,
There will be harmony in home.”
Chinese proverb

Reflection: Peace in the world is never impossible for someone to achieve it just takes the right steps and the right people to do it with. In the world now there is a lot of violence, protests, injustices, and immorality in teenagers caused by influential society, and just because people do not want to live a better life. These proverbs are essential keys to live a better life, and to improve the world’s well-being. We are all just here for a specific amount of time because when the lord calls for you back that is it.  If people can maintain peace anywhere they go without violence than this Chinese proverb can be achieved in many different ways. I agree with this proverb because it spreads knowledge, and can really help a person fundamentally achieve this proverb.

Character Counts
“The Six Pillars of Character”
1.         Trustworthiness: Be honest • Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal • Be reliable — do what you say you’ll do • Have the courage to do the right thing • Build a good reputation • Be loyal — stand by your family, friends, and country
2.       Respect: Treat others with respect; follow the Golden Rule • Be tolerant and accepting of differences • Use good manners, not bad language • Be considerate of the feelings of others • Don't threaten, hit or hurt anyone • Deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements
3.       Responsibility: Do what you are supposed to do • Plan ahead • Persevere: keep on trying! • Always do your best • Use self-control • Be self-disciplined • Think before you act — consider the consequences • Be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes • Set a good example for others
4.       Fairness: Play by the rules • Take turns and share • Be open-minded; listen to others • Don’t take advantage of others • Don’t blame others carelessly • Treat all people fairly.
5.       Caring: Be kind • Be compassionate and show you care • Express gratitude • Forgive others • Help people in need

6.       Citizenship: Do your share to make your school and community better • Cooperate • Get involved in community affairs • Stay informed; vote • Be a good neighbor • Obey laws and rules • Respect authority • Protect the environment • Volunteer

Reflection: The six pillars of characters are somewhat of a foundation to start living a better happier life without having to do bad things.  They teach others how to live a modest life with rules, and with respect to live without sin. In the six pillars of characters you need to be honest, respectful, responsible, fair, caring, and be a good citizen to your community and follow these life essentials.  Just in general you need to act righteous and not be putting down anyone from something and just treating people with respect. These pillars can be an influential subject it just takes people to follow what they say and to live a more modest positive life they can.

Showcase Reflection

This IDP was actually way easier than the other one and far more entertaining. It allowed most students to get creative and put their thoughts into just as many interesting projects there is. It was a success and I am proud for every student in HPIAM because not only did they work hard, and do a lot of research but they also presented and had the guts to just present and show what they had done for their presentation. For me the project was extremely easy, I was not nervous, nor scared to speak publicly, especially cause I had everything down so it was a piece of cake.

Student Success Statement
“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles

Reflection: There is a difference when you succeed by being honest and succeed by cheating. If you do it honestly, then you’re doing everything right and choosing the right. If you do it by cheating you’re doing it wrongly, and not doing it in the most honest way. Many people today try to achieve by cheating, lying, and being dishonest and that is not the way to go. People love to get out the easy way but later on that will come and bite you in the butt because everything catches up to anyone. If you succeed in life by simply telling the truth then you can live life more comfortably rather than always thinking you reached this level by committing wrong doing.
Memorial Day
1.         Memorial Day is a Federal Holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces.
2.       The purpose of Memorial Day is to remember the people who have given their life for our nation and for our happiness and future.
3.       Memorial Day is on the last Monday of May.
4.       Some ways we could show honor and respect on Memorial Day is to just give a moment of silence for all the people that have passed before us and to just celebrate the lives people have given for the country.

5.       Congress passed a law in 2000 that requires all Americans to stop what they are doing at 3pm on Memorial Day to remember and to honor those who have died serving the United States. President Clinton signed this action.
A couple of things i will do to honor this day is just pay my respects to everyone who has passed before me and to just pray God has them in his kingdom safe and sound.

Student Success Statement
“If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed.”
Dan Dierdorf

Reflection: It is a good feeling knowing everything you've done is paying off and that you’re keeping everything in track. For example when you’re passing all your classes and you know that later on it is going to pay off. It is also important to do everything in the right way because if you’re doing it wrongly then what was it worth? If anybody does anything the right way they will succeed because hard work pays off in the long run. In addition, everything will fall into line when you accomplish everything you've ever wanted to and when you’re future blesses you with greater things.

Student Success Statement
“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.”
Dennis Prager

Reflection: Having good values and being respectful is something that is very important. If you do not have good values then people won't like you, and they will think of you as disrespectful, and not taught at home how to act. For having good values you can get respect, happiness, and overall a lot of benefits for just being a good person. If you have no morals, or values you get backlash for it, no one is really going to want to have you around or be with you in company. Having morals and values can get you a long way it just matters how you get around your values, and how you incorporate them into your daily life.  In addition, it's always better to chose your values over your feelings, because with feelings stuff is only temporary and you're doing it for desire.
Optician
Duties & Responsibilities: A technical practitioner, who designs, fits and dispenses corrective lenses for the correction of a person's vision. Opticians determine the specifications of various ophthalmic appliances that will give the necessary correction to a person's eyesight.
Salary: $33,770
Education: an associate's or bachelor's degree in opticianry may offer a competitive advantage. Opticianry courses educate students in the anatomy and physiology of the human eye, optical fundamentals and refraction.

Reflection: Being an Optician is something I would not want to be in the future. The job seems cool but this is a subject I am not really into, it really doesn't catch my attention. I also would not like to be an optician because you basically get paid somewhat of minimum wage and I know I could earn more than that with another job I have in mind. In addition, I would not like to be an optician because I have a weak stomach and working with the human eye won’t make my weak stomach any better. All in all being an optician is something that is not in my life goals

Student Success Statement
“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self – respect, dignity (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.”
Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Reflection: It takes a lot to do what is right, but it is better to be doing good than to be doing wrong. It takes a lot to do the right and not many people can do it. All these things listed down on this quote are key to being successful and righteous. If you feel good about yourself and you know your value including your integrity to others you will do well in life, you come first and if you’re doing good in all these areas then you’ll do well socially and professionally. All in all, I agree with this statement and it could not be more accurate
