Optician
Duties
& Responsibilities: A technical practitioner, who designs, fits and
dispenses corrective lenses for the correction of a person's vision. Opticians
determine the specifications of various ophthalmic appliances that will give
the necessary correction to a person's eyesight.
Salary:
$33,770
Education:
an associate's or bachelor's degree in opticianry may offer a competitive
advantage. Opticianry courses educate students in the anatomy and physiology of
the human eye, optical fundamentals and refraction.
Reflection: Being an
Optician is something I would not want to be in the future. The job seems cool
but this is a subject I am not really into, it really doesn't catch my
attention. I also would not like to be an optician because you basically get
paid somewhat of minimum wage and I know I could earn more than that with
another job I have in mind. In addition, I would not like to be an optician
because I have a weak stomach and working with the human eye won’t make my weak
stomach any better. All in all being an optician is something that is not in my
life goals
