To be a CTR Person-to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
The Ultimate Choice
Of all the choices you ever make, there is one choice that that supersedes all other choices that will guide and help you in all your other choices. This one choice will help you always make the correct decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is the keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. THE ULTIMATE CHOICE is: To be a CTR person—to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT.

Reflection: Choosing the right is something that will inevitably happen depending on the person. Choosing the right can help you make the right decisions in life to achieve things. This also the keystone to be a good student and the best person you can possibly be. Choosing the right can also make way for you to make other decisions in life whether they are good or bad. Choosing the right can also be a lifelong keystone that can influence you daily and help you make better decisions.

Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
Thomas Carlyle.

Reflection: If an individual doesn’t know the direction of where their life is going than what is the point of living and wondering through it. Knowing what you want to do in life is better because you’re prepared, and ready to take on your life and more importantly the world. If you’re steering your life then you know what you desire, what you want to accomplish, and what you want to make out of yourself. If you do not set goals then what is the point of attending school and trying to make something out of yourself. All in all I agree with Thomas Carlyle because without a rudder you do not have long life goals.

Student Success Statement
“If there is beauty in character,
There will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
There will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character,
There will be harmony in home.”
Chinese proverb

Reflection: Peace in the world is never impossible for someone to achieve it just takes the right steps and the right people to do it with. In the world now there is a lot of violence, protests, injustices, and immorality in teenagers caused by influential society, and just because people do not want to live a better life. These proverbs are essential keys to live a better life, and to improve the world’s well-being. We are all just here for a specific amount of time because when the lord calls for you back that is it.  If people can maintain peace anywhere they go without violence than this Chinese proverb can be achieved in many different ways. I agree with this proverb because it spreads knowledge, and can really help a person fundamentally achieve this proverb.

Student Success Statement
“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles

Reflection: There is a difference when you succeed by being honest and succeed by cheating. If you do it honestly, then you’re doing everything right and choosing the right. If you do it by cheating you’re doing it wrongly, and not doing it in the most honest way. Many people today try to achieve by cheating, lying, and being dishonest and that is not the way to go. People love to get out the easy way but later on that will come and bite you in the butt because everything catches up to anyone. If you succeed in life by simply telling the truth then you can live life more comfortably rather than always thinking you reached this level by committing wrong doing.

Student Success Statement
“If I've got correct goals, and if I keep pursuing them the best way I know how, everything else falls into line. If I do the right thing right, I’m going to succeed.”
Dan Dierdorf

Reflection: It is a good feeling knowing everything you've done is paying off and that you’re keeping everything in track. For example when you’re passing all your classes and you know that later on it is going to pay off. It is also important to do everything in the right way because if you’re doing it wrongly then what was it worth? If anybody does anything the right way they will succeed because hard work pays off in the long run. In addition, everything will fall into line when you accomplish everything you've ever wanted to and when you’re future blesses you with greater things.

“The most important thing you will ever have is good values.”
Dennis Prager

Reflection: Having good values and being respectful is something that is very important. If you do not have good values then people won't like you, and they will think of you as disrespectful, and not taught at home how to act. For having good values you can get respect, happiness, and overall a lot of benefits for just being a good person. If you have no morals, or values you get backlash for it, no one is really going to want to have you around or be with you in company. Having morals and values can get you a long way it just matters how you get around your values, and how you incorporate them into your daily life.  In addition, it's always better to chose your values over your feelings, because with feelings stuff is only temporary and you're doing it for desire.

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self – respect, dignity (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.”
Dr. Laura Schlessinger

Reflection: It takes a lot to do what is right, but it is better to be doing good than to be doing wrong. It takes a lot to do the right and not many people can do it. All these things listed down on this quote are key to being successful and righteous. If you feel good about yourself and you know your value including your integrity to others you will do well in life, you come first and if you’re doing good in all these areas then you’ll do well socially and professionally. All in all, I agree with this statement and it could not be more accurate

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”
Theodore Roosevelt

Reflection: It is always to have in mind that making the right decision can impact your life greatly. It is always better to think ahead of the future before you make any type of decision. Doing the right thing and also thinking of others while making a decision is the greatest thing you can do. Thinking of others before you do is a sign of you not being selfish and being caring for others.

“Make each day a masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better, and over a period of time you become a lot better.”
John Wooden
UCLA

Reflection: Everyday should be taken seriously and with determination despite what is going on around you. Making every day as positive as it can, can encourage you to do better and strive for the very best that day and to plan ahead for tomorrow. If you practice to be a little positive every day then you can become a better person and improve in everything you do with a little more cheerfulness.

“It’s a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right thing at the right time.”
Pam Knox

Reflection: Doing everything right and with character is a positive thing to be doing. When you help someone in the time of need you’re helping that person at the right time because they are in need of it. It is also a positive thing when someone steps up to the plate, takes charge, and helps anyone else even if it is a small thing you leave a good impression and end up leaving with positive feelings. In addition I agree with this statement all the way because it reflects a lot on what other people have done for me and what I have done for them in their time of need. All in all this quote is something someone should take seriously and it is something someone should put into practice.

Student Success Statement
“A promise must never be broken.”
Alexander Hamilton

Reflection: Being able to trust another person and having the privilege to talk to them in a certain way should be taken as an honor. Not a lot of people talk to the certain individual in the way you do. Always keeping a promise will reflect on your honesty and how real you are to yourself. It also tests how capable you are in keeping your promise and how much effort and endurance you take upon keeping that certain promise. Once you break a promise you get distrust and unnecessary negativity that you do not need. All in all if you cannot keep a promise why even commit to one and make one if you cannot be true to yourself or the other person.

“What you see is what you get.”
Anonymous

Reflection: Anyone can achieve anything if they are on a righteous pursuit. Anything is possible to accomplish but it only takes an individual’s perseverance, determination, and ambition for something. Having a desire to be something in life and accomplish big things in life will forever be rewarding. Always looking in the mirror and seeing what you are is what you get. Your self-appearance says a lot of what type of a person you are whether you are lazy or not. As this quote says what you see is what you get is only the truth.

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.”
Henry Davis Thoreau

Reflection: Always being a good and positive person can always be a benefit in life. Being a good sport and handing a hand at times is a kind thing to do. Investing in being as better person and being more kindhearted will benefit an individual greatly.

Student Success Statement
“My basic principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they are cheap; you don't make them because they're popular; you make them because they're right.”
Theodore Hesburgh

Reflection: Life choices will always be a subject that affects an individual for their whole life. It is always wise to make decisions that will benefit you your whole life time and that will later on give you success. If you make poor decisions and pick desire over anything else than that’s where you make mistakes and karma will take its place later on. Decisions will forever have to be made in life and making the right ones that will make you successful and that will never leave you in hunger for something else are the right ones. All in all, it is up to an individual to pick what they want and if they want to struggle than that’s on them but if they do not than that’s a positive thing.

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound.”
Joseph Smith Jr

Reflection: It is always a human beings duty to conduct a righteous life and live healthy and obey all the rules our heavenly father has left for us to follow. If you do not follow these rules you are basically harming yourself and indulging into negative lifestyle choices and vibes. It is always a positive thing to take some time and read the word of god and just reflect if you've been following his sayings and what not. All in all it is always better to choose the right and live that righteous life our lord wants us to live and achieve in his sacred name.

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”

Abraham Lincoln

Reflection: Abraham Lincoln spits nothing but the truth. I agree with his statement because when someone is doing something right and positive in their life all you have to do is stand with them and support them. If someone is doing something bad and negative it is always better to walk away and not let their negativity rub off on you. When someone is not doing the right thing why stand with them and let the actions they are doing affect you and your life choices. In addition, it is always better to stick with someone that is making the right decisions and is striving in life rather than being a huge loser and not doing anything with ambition and prosperity.

Student Success Statement
“Character is higher than intellect.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Reflection: Being intellectual will get you somewhere good and high, but character always counts no matter what you’re doing. Character can impact how people see you as and what people might feel about you. Being mentally intellectually is something positive I’m not opposing it but always adding character to your work and to your everyday work is always something positive. In addition, if you show ambition in your work and you’re being a good person it can always take you a long way and it will make people want to work with you and socialize with you primarily in the work area. In conclusion intellectuality and character always matters, but it only takes if you’re willing to do it in a positive way.

Student Success Statement
“I trust my hard work will pay off.”
Tyler Haws

Reflection: I agree with Tyler Haws statement that hard work will pay off. I've had numerous occasions where I've bust my butt off to earn good grades and make my work as perfect as it can be and all of my work paid off. I ended up passing my class and not having to worry about me failing my class or having to make up work or anything of that, and it made me proud. I'm the type of person that if I put my mind to it I will accomplish it no matter what the circumstances are and show determination and ambition in my work. It is always a blessing to know that you’ve come a long way to accomplish one certain goal and to know that our heavenly father was there all along guiding you through the process in accomplishing your goal and guiding you in the right path. I will be forever grateful in my performance in school and I will not settle for less but strive for the best.

Student Success Statement
“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.”
Brigham Young

Reflection: If you do what is right in every aspect of your life, than everything will go as planned. If you do what is wrong then everything cannot go right and not as planned. Being honest to yourself and life is the best thing to do if you want everything to be perfect and positive. In addition, doing what is right can leave a good feeling in your heart because you’re doing something good and not leaving any harm behind. All in all, everyone can gain freedom and independence but only the ones that gain it the right and positive way will prosper and live a happy life.

Student Success Statement
They're only truly great who are truly good.”
George Chapman

Reflection: I agree with George Chapman’s statement written above. If you’re doing everything a positive, healthy way then you're a good person emotionally and physically. Drugs and alcohol can ruin your appearance and make you look horrible in the inside and outside. This is why as a person you decide to do the right things and decide to not go down a bad path filled with negativity and regret. In addition, if you’re doing everything the right way then life will be nothing but positive and prosperous.
